The 'if onlys' in life... if only you'd done this and not that. Weird.

PileyPileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15540380685492699957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-62955948023314431172008-05-04T23:36:00.000+01:002008-05-04T23:36:00.000+01:00I think this is an extremely interesting and well-...I think this is an extremely interesting and well-written piece. I found myself also drawing comparison with Hitler too - many have cited that had he been admitted to art school rather than rejected (and most upset and dejected about it he was too) then perhaps world history would be slightly different than it is today....

Re: Michael Jackson - despite the fact he was found not guilty I find it very hard to listen to his music now - ditto Gary Glitter. Never had a problem with Jonathan King because his music was utter shite anyway as opposed to Jackson and some early Glitter.rockmotherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08939586655533001122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-73859179805061459012008-05-02T09:13:00.000+01:002008-05-02T09:13:00.000+01:00Brave post Piley. Think i'd feel unconfortable listening to it if I knew who it was, but I guess that's exactly the point of your article? or maybe I just been on the thicky pills again!

RobAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-87733702464365634462008-04-30T12:02:00.000+01:002008-04-30T12:02:00.000+01:00I thought it was a good article……..very thought pr...I thought it was a good article……..very thought provoking. I expect that I might even like the 60’s music from what you described. However, even though it was produced before the atrocities, I don’t think that I could listen to them dispassionately. And I think you need to come at these things without prejudice or pre-judgement.

WarbleactionsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-45931499128492065272008-04-30T00:09:00.000+01:002008-04-30T00:09:00.000+01:00Surprised not to see more comments on this. I'd have to admit to a natural curiosity about his music but it would be hard to listen to it with an open mind. Still, I guess music is music and should be judged for what it is and not who played it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-36216982317668052202008-04-25T22:57:00.000+01:002008-04-25T22:57:00.000+01:00PH - you are nearer than perhaps you thought! And didn't James Brown, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry etc all spend time in jail?

Some of these come back to a heroes welcome, whilst others can never return... Michael Jackson anyone??!Pileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15540380685492699957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-65279438453480667352008-04-22T15:32:00.000+01:002008-04-22T15:32:00.000+01:00It's one of those areas I've been aware of but nev...It's one of those areas I've been aware of but never checked out - I'll have to lend it an (impartial)ear. It's always going to be a tricky catalogue, but one you have to judge on it's own musical merit.Mondohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11199468951602465556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-10259908951339459312008-04-22T11:40:00.000+01:002008-04-22T11:40:00.000+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mondohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11199468951602465556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47636629640428119.post-58871467126284697812008-04-22T11:12:00.000+01:002008-04-22T11:12:00.000+01:00Great post Piley.
